Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Parent Inbox, a service operated by H&N ORIENTAL TRADING LTD (company number 16800132, registered in England and Wales, registered office 20 Broad Street, Wokingham, RG40 1AH) — trading as "Parent Inbox" ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
Parent Inbox is a web application that connects to your Gmail inbox, identifies emails from school senders you configure, extracts deadlines and action items, and delivers reminders via WhatsApp and events via Google Calendar.
The service is intended for personal use by parents and guardians to manage school communications for their own children. Commercial or institutional use requires a separate agreement.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the service.
- You must own or have lawful authorisation to access the Gmail account you connect to the service.
- By connecting a Gmail account, you confirm that you have the right to do so and that doing so does not violate any third-party terms or obligations.
3. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must not share your login credentials with others.
You must notify us immediately at info@shinta.tech if you believe your account has been compromised.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, are involved in fraud, or pose a security risk to other users.
4. Subscription and payment
Pricing
Parent Inbox is offered as a paid subscription. Current pricing is published on our website and may be updated from time to time. All prices include VAT where applicable. We will give you reasonable notice of any price changes before they take effect.
Free trial
New accounts may include a free trial period as published on our website. No credit card is required to start a trial. At the end of the trial period, you will need to subscribe to continue using the service. You will not be charged automatically — you must actively subscribe.
Billing
Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel.
Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months. If you cancel during a trial, you will not be charged.
If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at info@shinta.tech within 14 days and we will investigate promptly.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to access email accounts you do not own or are not authorised to access
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the service
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to interact with the service
- Attempt to circumvent security measures or access controls
- Use the service in a way that could damage, disable, or impair it
- Resell or sublicense access to the service without our prior written consent
6. Google account permissions
To use the service, you authorise us to access your Gmail inbox with read-only permissions, limited to emails matching the school senders you configure. We request only the minimum permissions necessary.
You can revoke this access at any time via your Google Account permissions page. Revoking access will stop email scanning but will not automatically cancel your subscription.
Our use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
7. Availability and service levels
We aim to keep Parent Inbox available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may carry out planned maintenance (with advance notice where possible) or experience unexpected outages. We are not liable for losses arising from unavailability.
The service is provided during a beta period. Features may change, be removed, or be added without notice during this period.
8. Intellectual property
The Parent Inbox name, logo, and all software, designs, and content in the service are owned by H&N Oriental Trading Ltd and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use our brand assets without prior written permission.
You retain ownership of all data you provide to the service (including school configuration data and action items you create manually). You grant us a limited licence to process this data solely to provide the service to you.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, H&N Oriental Trading Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, missed events, or missed deadlines, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, that it will catch every school email, or that action item extraction will always be accurate.
You remain responsible for checking your school communications directly. Parent Inbox is an aid, not a replacement for your own judgement.
11. Changes to the service or these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or via an in-app notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
We may also change or discontinue features of the service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes where possible.
12. Termination
Either party may terminate the agreement at any time. You may do so by cancelling your subscription and deleting your account. We may do so by giving you 30 days' notice, or immediately if you breach these Terms.
On termination, your right to use the service ends. We will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
